REEF™ Fish Identification & Surveying

BE PART OF A GLOBAL EFFORT TO CATALOGUE AND PROTECT THE WORLD’S REEF FISH!

Students who choose the REEF™ Fish Volunteer Survey Project survey and catalogue reef fish and submit their data to the Reef Environmental Education Foundation’s international online database for further analysis. Students learn to identify common reef fish species and recognize their key features and behaviors. Students also explore threats to reef fish survival, including over-fishing, habitat destruction, invasive species, and pollution. Students discuss their findings and present their work to their peers and staff scientists.
