Coral Reef Ecology

HELP SAVE THE MAGIC OF THE CORAL REEFS!

Students assist in local reef monitoring efforts by using non-invasive methods to monitor coral coverage and coral health. Students use scuba and freediving skills to conduct coral reef surveys and record their data in an online database. Students learn about types of corals, coral reef ecology, and the threats to their survival, including human impacts and climate change. Students discuss their findings and present their work to their peers and staff biologists.
