Today was the start of our NAUI Intro to Scientific Diving Specialty Course (continued…)

This course was developed by SeaTrek as a unique advanced diving and research component of the FATHOMS program. Today students completed one dive (General scuba skills assessment at Salt Island) and began learning species identification and the monitoring methods they would be using throughout the course. After lunch we headed to Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda and enjoyed some swim and shore time at one of the nicest beaches in the BVIs. We then headed to Marina Cay where we met up with the other SeaTrek boats and stayed overnight. For our evening activity, Capt. Chance gave a really interesting sailing lecture and demonstration. Although tired, the students really enjoyed it and can’t wait to get sailing in the next few days. We’re looking forward to seeing what adventures are in store for us tomorrow!

Due to the slow internet connection in the BVI we were unable to load a whole set of pictures up for this log. We do the best we can, but some things (especially technology that we take for granted at home) are out of our control! Sorry!
