| Sasha began sailing in New York when he was six. He learned from his father in the marshy wetlands on the south shore of Long Island. Sasha honed his skills sailing for MIT on the Muddy Charles, in Boston Harbor, and at colleges across the northeastern United States. He is an ASA Sailing Instructor as well as a USCG 100-ton Master Captain. Sasha was instrumental in developing new talent as the college team grew in size and increased in national ranking. After college, Sasha returned to New York City and resumed sailing with his father. Sasha loves to teach sailing because he enjoys sharing the fun and skill of this ancient art.
The boats Sasha has sailed include the Laser, Tech Dinghy, Hobie 16, 420, 470, Flying Junior, Rhodes 19, J/22, J/24, J/105, and several larger cruising sailboats and catamarans including a Catalina 47 and a 51' custom built catamaran. When not sailing, Sasha enjoys surfing, ice hockey, bicycling, and kite flying. He used to develop custom analytic software for a financial company on Wall Street but decided to spend the winter surfing and sailing in Puerto Rico instead.
