| Another corn-loving Midwestern Hoosier. Angie comes to us from a small farm in Indiana. There she first discovered her affinity for nature, wildlife, and conservation. She attended Colorado State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. As an undergraduate, Angie spent three semesters studying abroad and taking marine-related field courses in Australia and Belize. There she fell in love, it wasn’t sharks or dolphin that Angie fell in love with—it was the mysteriousness of it all!
During the winter months Angie works for the Ocean Institute as an instructor, boat program technician, and curriculum developer as well as teaching integrated science and marine ecology at Tesoro High School in California. She has her Science Education Credentials and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching. Angie is currently pursuing her Ph.D in coral reef/island ecology and conservation. Her hobbies include hiking, yoga, running, cooking, reading, playing pool, watching/playing sports, keeping up on world events and scientific research, learning new things like hula and ki-aikido, and playing in the ocean of course! Her greatest passions are learning and sharing the wonders of the ocean with others.
